    I think it explains the basics pretty well and describes metabolically, what happens when there is insufficient insulin in the bloodstream. It is funny how a lot of people think that having Diabetes means "avoiding all sugar". While avoiding simple sugars is certainly true, we need sugar in "just the right amounts".
